Barkhamsted Reservoir covers what was once known as Barkhamsted Hollow, a village of homes and small farms flooded to create the reservoir. About 8 miles long, it serves as the primary water supply for the metropolitan Hartford area. It’s vast size and recreational opportunities make for a great day out as well as painting.
